The band was formed about 10 years ago by Pipe Major Arthur Jepson and
John Bartholomew .Arthur was in the Scots Guards and John was a
British soldier with the RMP where both learned to play the bagpipes.
They encouraged over the years new members to join and we now have about
14 very experienced players. Since 1992 the band, we have

The Jersey "Battle of the Flowers" (for
the last 5
years) Performed for the Duke of Kent, Field Marshall to the
Black Watch. The 1066 band are the only civilian band to
play at the Houses of Parliament for the "Speaker " Sir Michael Martin
who is now their Patron and have
Invited to do the opening of the Royal Warwick show in July 2008. The
band has appeared at many carnivals in the UK. and has performed with 2
army bands at Herstmonceux castle. All of the pipers play solo at
events.
