An Oxfordshire Show was held on Kidlington Airfield up until 1977. When the Oxfordshire Agricultural Society was officially wound up the Oxfordshire Agricultural Society Trust was formed. This trust is still active today in the Agricultural Industry, providing grants and scholarships towards research and training within the industry.
With Oxfordshire County Councils and Oxfordshire Agricultural Society Trusts kind permission we have incorporated this name into Thame Show and the show is now called The Thame and Oxfordshire County Show.
Thame Show will still aim to provide the same quality of show with the same traditions as it has done for the past 133 years. This new name gives Thame Show the recognition it so richly deserves and will hopefully see it prospering for the next 133 years and beyond.
2006 saw another change for the Association. It was agreed at the Annual General meeting that the name of the show would see another slight change to make full use of the County Status and attract a wider base of visitors and supporters. The show has therefore been re-named to The Oxfordshire County & Thame Show.
